Bentonite Clay Mask
- Using no metal utensils or bowls (as this will render the clay ineffective), add all ingredients to a bowl & thoroughly mix.
- Apply to your face & allow to sit 15-20 minutes.
- Wash face with warm water to remove. Face will be red, so it's best to do this treatment when you don't need to make a public appearance.

The Rules of Bentonite Clay
Bentonite has one rule! It’s a BIG rule, though, so please don’t skip it!
Bentonite clay can not be touched by metal utensils or containers. That means that you need to use ceramic, glass, bamboo, silicone, or BPA-FREE plastic utensils and containers.
Metal renders the bentonite clay useless because it activates it. This means that it will not be providing any health benefits when stirred or mixed with metal thus making it a waste of time and money.
That’s no bueno!
When To Do This Treatment
Since the mask draws out toxins, especially when you’re applying this to your face, it’s best to do this application when you won’t be experiencing company or the need to go into public.
The reason being is that it turns the skin bright red. You’re not in any physical danger at all…it’s just expelling toxins. You will return to your normal skin tone in an hour or two. Don’t fret.
Just be forewarned so that you’re not having to go to work, drop the kiddos off at school, or going to the grocery store with a bright red face.
Makeup will not cover up the red, so there’s no need to try that either! LOL
So, I like to apply the facial mask at night or on days off.
Where to Apply the Mask
Bentonite clay masks can be used on your scalp, face, underarms, back, legs, and feet.
It’s wonderful for drawing out toxins and to help clear up acne or other skin issues.
When applied to the underarms, it helps to draw out toxins that build up in the armpit area. You will find that after detoxing your armpits with this mask, your deodorant works much better.
Apple Cider Vinegar
I know that the apple cider vinegar can be a tad pungent in smell. So, if you need to reduce the amount of ACV that you use due to sensitivity or the smell is not your thang, dilute it with filtered water.
I have grown to love the smell because I know how healing it is, but I do understand it’s not for everyone.
If you have cystic acne or open blemishes, the ACV might sting you a bit. You can reduce the ACV or just use filtered water until your face begins to clear up a bit more. This mask is going to help clear up any acne issues going on.
If you have eczema or psoriasis, please check with your functional medicine doctor before applying anything to your skin.
The essential oils are great at helping skin that has blemishes or acne. It also a great soothing agent. However, you can do this mask without the essential oils.
I’ve done it both ways, but I prefer it with the essential oils.
Not sure about essential oils or want to discuss your health needs and goals with me…I am also offering a free health chat! We can chat via phone or video about your current health needs, future health goals, & devise a wellness strategy that is right for you.
